We have a customer with a BCM 400 3.6 with a PRI with DID. I have the PRI a DID ring a hunt group so it rings a group of phones, on all phones it the target line is ring only. The customer wants to be able to answer on one phone put it on hold and press the held line flashing on another phone like you could do with analog trunks. I've given them transfer and park but they want to be able to say, pick up line X. If the target line was "appear and ring" would that help? One cavet is that this target line is nevered answered by AA or VM.

Do you mean the target line is assigned to ring the hunt group not the phones? In the past when using PRI, I have assigned the target line as ring only to the phone and assigned the physical lines as appear only. This way incoming calls appear to ring the physical line keys and calls can be placed on hold to be retrieved elsewhere. This method has worked for me without any apparent problems. The only thing is if ringing phones have voice mail, is that why you have a hunt group?

You need to use system wide call apperance keys. Feature *3 the key feature *521 for 1 Feature *522 for 2 and so on.

so how do we put a call into a SWCA. I've never used that with a norstar

You program the SWCA 1 on all the phones with a button. You then answer the call and then press that key to put the caller on hold on key 1. You will then be able to pick the call up from any other phone with the key or dial feature *521. You can set up the BCM that when the user presses the hold key the caller will be put on SWCA.

sounds good marshall. the phones that will use this are i2004. I 've used up the 6 programmable keys next to the display and I see that I can program feature codes into the exit key and the key with the folders on it. but there is no way to label these keys. What do you do with the extra keys on the bottom of the phone?

You can really only use the keys on the top of the display. You will get no visual indication there is a call on hold otherwise. You will only need a few keys. When a call is retrived from the key that key becomes available again.
