SCO 5.0.6 Enterprise...after I install rs506a the kernel fails to link with this error:

i386ld: Symbol numHBAs in /var/opt/K/SCO/link/1.1.1Ga/etc/conf/pack.d/slha/space.o is multiply defined. First defined in /var/opt/K/SCO/link/1.1.1Ga/etc/conf/pack.d/slha/Driver.o
ERROR: Can not link-edit unix

idbuild: idmkunix had errors.

I have searched this site and read the articles on kernel link failures...I have tried several things in /etc/conf/cf.d but am a bit nervous here. Still the kernel will not link. Would anyone have any ideas for me?

And you are sure this was due to the supplement- if you uninstall it, the kernel then links correctly?

Also see just for general edification.

Your problem here is what it says- a symbol is defined twice. I'd look in /etc/conf/cf.d/mdevice first. Tony Lawrence

Tony:
If I uninstall rs506a then the kernel links correctly. I checked /etc/conf/cf.d/mdevice and the slha line only appears once as follows:
slha Iip iHh slha 0 120 1 32 -1
