Hello -

I'm having trouble with something that seems like it should be so easy....

I have a document using 2-line drop caps at the beginning of paragraphs. In many cases, I'd like to be able to move the second line of text closer or farther from the drop cap. But I can't seem to figure it out....when I place my cursor before the first word on the 2nd line, and try to kern it back, there is no effect. What am I doing wrong?
Can you please help me?

Thank you!!

Hi,

You can't kern on the second line of the drop cap. The drop cap is an extended version of the first character of the first line. So put your cursor after the drop cap on the first line and apply the kerning you want. The kerning will be applied for the two lines of your drop cap.

hope this helps

Ahh...thanks carlow.

Do you know if there is any way to accomplish what I'm after? Basically, to have the first line a different distance from the drop cap then the second line?

Perhaps you could make the drop cap an object (apply outlines) and then apply text wrap?
