How does everyone keep track of their cable drops and 66/110 blocks.

I more specifically interested in how folks keep track of things like TN, Raiser Pairs, Cable #, Cube #, ect.

Right now we use a spreadsheet which has served well and don't seem to have issues since we are good at documenting right away when a change is made. I am looking at the long term picture and to handle more people involved.

We use a corporate WIKI page. You can track who updated what and when they did it.

Regardless of the method(s) used to document the cable record or inventory, it only works for updates and additions, when that process becomes part of the job and is second nature to those doing it! This should be part of installer and management training for good practices.

Like SYQ said, when you go to a job site to do adds/changes, always look out for the other guy because more likely than not it will eventually be YOU!

MS Visio is the best solution I've seen for documenting the network, though it might be more than you need for anything outside a datacenter,
