I have a user that was thinking they were missing their mapped drives when they opened windows explorer.

Every time they opened Windows Explorer it starts on "My Documents" with everything else colapsed. Where mine always starts on "My Computer".

I have tried to change mine to match my user's view (playing with the options under the Tools -> Folder Options menu), however mine always goes back to starting on "My Computer".

Thanks in advance for any reply.

bcastner - Thanks for your reply.

I guess your post answers my question some what. Your solution works when you change that property for the start menu shortcut; however win you call windows explorer by using the shortcut keys (windows key + e) those setting do not apply (from what I tested on my computer).

Another observation would be this: all the computers I have stopped by in our organization when I have gone to windows explorer by using the shortcut keys, they all come up the same starting at "My Computer". I guess I would like to know what caused the change on this computer.

Thanks.

Windows key + E is described as "Open My Computer" and not as an Explorer shortcut.

How the user managed to get the key to open any other foldeer is a mystery to me, as I honestly believe there is no legitimate way to customize the Windows logo key assignments.

Sorry for the mis use of terms. I will do some checking on their computer to see how they are doing this specifically.

Thanks again for your help

I would be very interested if they found a way to modify a Windows logo key. Please keep use informed.
