keep receiving calls but just a series of beeps - NEC Pabx

Dear fellows,

Our reception keeps on receiving calls every few minutes (very annoying and interrupts the front desk so bad) but when they picked up the phone, they can hear just a series of beeps. (As I did some google search, it seems like some fax machines are sending fax to our telephone line.) Any ideas how to solve this problem? I have contacted our ISP but they cannot do anything according to them. Our Pabx is NEC- and system software is Aspire.
 
If you have a fax machine simply quickly transfer the call to your fax. once the sending machine has been answered by a fax, it should stop trying to send.
 
You can also look for a caller ID and do a reverse fax asking the sender to check their number and stop.

We are using the windows fax on another computer, I have tried transferring the calls to the fax line but still we keep reciving these fax calls.

I did some research and found out most of these numbers are junk fax (spams). I think reverse fax is of no use.

I wanted to block these numbers but i just dont know how.
 
Are all these from the same number and how do you know they are junk faxes, did transferring the call result in a fax being received?

If they are from one number, I would be talking to your service provider. If this was Australia I would refer you to the appropriate authorities as fines can result from these types of calls in OZ but as I don't know where you are, I don't know if there are similar laws where you are!

There may be ways to stop these calls but we would need to know more about which system you have.

Ok so you have an Aspire and unfortunately I don't specialize in those but I do believe there isn't a way of blocking calls by incoming caller ID on one of these so IMHO you will have to approach your service provider to block these calls. However Belvedere may know better!
 
A quick google search shows many of these are annoyance calls previously reported. I suggest you call your telco provider to block them. Be prepared, some providers charge for this service.
