How can I make a circle? I don't want any fill in it. I feel dumb in asking this, because I can do more complex things in this program. I just want a line circle!

Any and all help would be great!

Michael

Use the elliptical marquee (the circular selection tool) to draw your circle (Holding the Shift key while using this tool will create a perfect circle).

Once selected, go to Edit>Stroke

You lost me.

You choose the color, whether the stroke should extend on the outside of the selection or run centered directly on it, and what painting/blending mode to use.

Just click' OK' on the Stroke dialog and enjoy the results. If you don't like it, undo it and tweak the options.

Thanks for your replies. I see where I lost you. I was, in fact, able to change my stroke. What I need now is my fill to be nonexistent. No fill! Not sure how to do that...

While the circle is selected, hit DELETE on the keyboard.

This will cut out whatever you have in there. You may need to re-stroke if the stroke was inside of or centered on the circle selection.

I think there may be a bit of confusion here. What tool are you using to draw your circle? What jimoblak is referring to is the eliptical marquee tool, which, on the tool pallette, is on the top left. It may look like a rectangle with a dotted line, so click and hold until you see the circular version. Use that rather than the circle 'shape' tool ... that's a whole different ball game!

Your question is a bit confusing, but if you wish to draw a circle, much kike one would do with a pencil then do the following:

Use Blueark's instructions for selecting the eliptical marquee tool

Use Jimoblak's instruction "(Hold the Shift key while using this tool will create a perfect circle)".

After creating the circle outline (you will see the crawling ants) click Edit, click Stroke, choose the width
(5 pixels is a decent start), choose "outside" for location, Opacity (100%) and mode (normal), then click OK.

After that you can start over and choose the stroke settings anyway you wish.

Much Luck

Or instead of completely starting over just go back in the history to the stop right before you did the stroke and then re apply iut with a different setting.
