I've just upgraded from Windows 98, everything seemed to go ok, but the first time I boot up and get to the screen where you have to hit contol alt delete there is no mouse cursor and none of the keys do anything (even caps lock/number lock keys do not turn light on/off). I have to power off and restart, and the second time for some reason I have the mouse cursor and keyboard works! This happens repeatedly! I looked in device manager and it says nothing is wrong with these, why does this happen?

I have just looged a similar problem:
I have a dual boot to Win2000. Splash screens are lower resolution, then at logon prompt no keyboard or mouse is active. Win 98 boot is fine. Tried all safe mode options. I can get to recovery console, but what to do? Have replaced mouse.drv and keyboard.drv. Any ideas appreciated. Would prefer not to reinstall.

Did you get a resolution?
