Just upgraded IP Office V2 from R8.1 to R9.0 and gets "No License Available" on 1416 and 1408 phones. This is a new installation, was ordered for R9.0 but received R8.1
All Licenses are for R9.
Any suggestions why........much appreciated

You do not have an essential edition license i think.
Open Monitor and see if this is coming by.
What licenses do you have?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Steps taken with upgrade of sd card from version R8.1 to version R9.0

• Reset system to factory default.
• Shut down system and removed sd card.
• Format sd card ip office A-Law.
• Fitted sd card into unit and restarted.
• Upgraded system to v9.0
• Upgrade successful
• On 1416 and 1408 phones displays “No License Available”
• Added Essential Addition License – Still the same “No License Available”
• Added all other licenses – IP Endpoints, Universal PRI, VM Pro Recordings, Soft Consul, R8 plus Preferred Edition (VM Pro)
• All Licenses loaded.
• Still the same “No License Available” on 1416 and 1408 displays.

Do you have an upgrade license for 9.0?

No I dont have, we ordered a v9 unit but received a v8.1 and was told to upgrade to v9 and that was the process they instructed.

How long was this system running?
When it did run where there any calls made on it?

So you ran the system as 8.1 and then upgraded it to 9.0. Sorry, but you need an upgrade license to get it running 9.0.

Downgrade it back to 8.1 for the moment to get it working (no need to default the config when upgrading/downgrading).

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Brand new system, not been installed yet. Thank you so much, just checked up on Avaya knowledge base that an upgrade license is needed. Once more thanks for your help and input. Regards!!!

You should not need it normally.

I believe your problem was because you missed a step:

• Reset system to factory default.
• Shut down system and removed sd card.
• Format sd card ip office A-Law.

Here you should have Recreated the SD Card using 9.0

• Fitted sd card into unit and restarted.

Then there is no need to do these steps:
• Upgraded system to v9.0
• Upgrade successful

Hi Billx1,
Have done exactly as u stated but gets “No License Available”
on 1416 and 1408 phones. i apparently need a upgrade license according to IP Office Release 9 Product update.

Thank you for your input.....Highly appreciated

Regards

Just follow these steps next time:

Put SD card in a card reader.
Start Manager 9.0 and be sure that the working directory is pointing to the 9.0 files.
Format SD card
Recreate SD card
Then and only then start the new IPO with the SD card.

Yu will need an upgrade licence for this please make not of the number of user 32 user you will need a small licence and 32 and above large upgrade licance

Did you sell IPOSS with this system?
if so register it with Avaya using the 8.1 software & then ask for your free V9.0 upgrade license.

otherwise you dealer may still be able to get one from Avaya foc if they push hard enough
