Hi Ido,

I have read your posts for fixing the database refresh problem while launching the Reports.

I have a situation simmillar which I have explained below.

Currently, we are launching the report from Web with URL parameters. ( i.e we are not using the Crystal Reports COM/API )

say
I have saved the report by UNCHECKING the option "Save Data with Report" so it works fine when the reports are launched for the first time.

But if I dont close the browser and launch the report again, it displays the report from the cache and does not execute the SQL query.

I found there is an option which can be set on Crystal Management Consoile under Cacheserver i.e Database Refersh which I have set it to 0 minutes and restarted the services.

But still on launching the reports, the SQL query gets fired for the first time but not subsequently unless the parameter values are changed.

Is there anywhere we could force the reports to get refreshed everytime they get launched. ( other than manually hitting the lightning bolt button after the reports get launched ).

Thanx in advance

Mad,

Assuming you use IE as a browser, go to its
Tools,
Internet Options...
Settings

and change 'check for newer versions of stored pages'
to 'every visit to the page'

This may solve the problem for you.

Hi Ido,

Thanx for replying immediately.

I tried option SETTINGS in IE but still it displays the report from cache.

Is there anything which I can do at server to configure not to cache the reports???

The settings for Database refresh has been mentioned in "Web Reporting Administrators Guide" on page 42.

We are currently using Crsyatl Enterprise 8.0 version.

Hi Ido,

the problem has been fixed. I have found a workaround solution from crystal decision support to fix it.

I have created a dummy parameter on the reports and pass random number everytime I call the report which will force the Job manager to fir the SQL query and not retrieving the reports from the Cache.

I am sending you the link for further details.

Thanx a Ton!!!
