Does anyone know if there was a way that you can expand a Norstar over a VPN tunnel? Although I don't have anything to do with it now, I had a customer at my previous work who had a Norstar initially. They moved over to a BCM50 in late 2008 and are now expanding exponentially and are facing having to buy keycodes for IP phones, CallPilot, and the phones themselves.
But, my question is: would they have been able to install add-on fiber modules to their equipment and route the traffic over a VPN connection? Initially they had a DSL connection at each point with a VPN router and a tunnel bridging the two locations. I think it would have saved them money from upgrading, and allowed them to expand at the same time with no cost except for phones. Of course, this was all done before I came on the scene.
Thanks
