i am setting up an ipo 500v2 with about 30 phones
15 -1408 and 15- 1416

the company has 6 incoming pot lines
i was thinking of doing 3 intercom on 1416's and 2 on 1408 with 3 call park locations (1,2,3) programed to buttons

dose any one have any thoughts on this i am very green when it comes to phone system set up so any input would be great

Do not use line appearances at all!!!!
Use call appearances ad groups.
You can use park slots.
The IPO is not a key system, it can only simulate one and it is not very good at it.
When you use the IPO where it is build for then you will have a lot of fun with it.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

i was not going to use line
i was going to use 3 call appearance and 3 call parked just asigned number (1,2,3) on the 1416 phone

and 2 call appearance and 3 call parked on the 1408

now i just want to make sure i do not need a unpark because the parked button will function as both ?Correct

Yes it will do the unparking too.
You just need to use the same numbers on the park slots otherwise you won't see that there is a call parked.

You should be good. the only thing to consider is that to transfer a call you need an available call appearance button. So, if someone on a 1408 has a call on hold (not park) and get another call, they won't be able to transfer a call until they free up one of their call appearance buttons. In most cases it shouldn't be an issue, but just make sure users with 1408's won't normally be juggling two calls at a time.

Remember to "reserve last call appearance key"

If you have the system already up in your office do a quick test, make a phone call from phone A to B, answer it and then park it on phone A.Then make a phone call from phone C to A, answer it and then put the call on hold at phone A.Now try to retrieve the parked call (from phone A), most likely will not work (you will get a message like "no park slots"). This is an issue that is happening on all 7.0.05, .12 or .23 versions, not sure if Avaya has or is planning to have a fix for this.

so are you trying to tell me that call parking is not working on 7.0.05, .12 or .23 versions or dose not work in that combo only ????

hairlesssuportmonkee how do you reserve the "last call appearance key" ?

under user/telephone/multi-line options, check the bottom radio button (reserve last CA)
