Hi, I've just started a new job and im required to have a basic understanding of SQL, I've mastered basic commands like select, insert, update, create, delete - but would like to further my knowledge a little bit more. Anyone know of SQL commands which wouldnt be too taxing on a beginner? I appreciate your help :)

if the title of your thread means sql for microsoft access, the first tip i have is to post your question in one of the microsoft access forums, e.g. forum701

MellioWellio,

r937 is correct. You've posted in the wrong forum. This is for Microsoft's SQL Server.

So what you might ask? Access, SQL Server, Oracle, etc. all use different forms of the SQL language. They all use the basic SQL the same way, but from there it changes enough that the SQL that works with one won't work with another.

For example:
SQL Server's TSQL uses CASE. Access doesn't use CASE it uses IIF.
