IS-IT--Management
I've been tasked to get a backup and recovery strategy going in my company (~3000 users).
The only problem is we are a government organisation without a heck of a lot of cash. After much searching the internet I'd resigned myself to using one of the standalone solutions - then a mate emailed me this link for enterprise class software called Indigo Backup. His organisation has been using for the last few years and is around 12000 (un)employees all ex-government.
Having tried the software it seems ok and offers centralised backup control, configuration and management.
However, it all looks a little bit too good to be true. The license says anyone, including commercial companies may use it, so it does seem ok. The guys who produce the company are a services organisation called Indigo Prime, but why would they be giving away this stuff for free?
Here's the link to the website: http:\\
Anybody got any views on this - has anyone run into this Indigo Backup software before?
Are there some better freeware enterprise class backup systems out there?
Thanks for any help guys
