Every time I insert a .jpg file into my website it will not show on the site. But if I change it to a .png file (from Fireworks) it will show. It seems like anything that I have done in Photoshop it won't let me display it. Any ideas please let me know.

Thanks,
Heath

Make sure you upload the files into the correct folders. Who is your host, It seems strange that .png is reckognised but .jpg is not

Well, I wish I could say that it worked, but it didn't. I did have cloaking turned on but it still is giving me the same problem. This is what the windows looks like when I try to put a .jpg file in my website. If you look at the picture through IE you get the "x window".

Any other ideas?

That is DW's equvilant of the red cross image. In other words the image aint there. What is the code for that image? Is it within the site definition?

I've had that problem before and if I change the image's extension to .jpeg instead of .jpg it shows up. Sometimes it'll disappear again and I change it back to .jpg and it appears. Really weird - I don't know if this will help you.

it could be IE update thing.... :(

Make sure that you have saved your JPG in RGB and not CMYK format. That might be the problem.

I have had this problem before. I rebuilt the page from scratch and it took care of it. It started happening more frequently so I reinstalled dreamweaver and I haven't had the problem since. I have seen othere people have this problem, and rebuilding the page seems to take care of it.

I have tried it on a brand new page also, and it still does it. I will try the RGB/CMYK thing. Hopefully that will work. I hope.

file_name.jpeg
is the actualy extention generated if the RGB mode is not followed...although browsers CAN show either or....the issue is in HTML path....
