Journal Entry Posted Incorrectly 1

In MAS90, we posted a journal entry between our Distributions and Retained Earnings Accounts in the Equity Section of our Balance Sheet. We posted the Journal Entry and all looked fine. In reviewing the trial balance, only the Distributions portion of the Journal Entry appears, the Retained Earnings account is unchanged. Of course, now our trial balance is out of balance. Is there anyway to recover from this problem?

Reverse your entry.

Unfortunately, we tried that and the reversing entry worked correctly. In other words, both sides of the entry posted correctly, and we are still off by half of the entry.
