Joining Existing 5.5 Site - Replication

Hi,

When a new Exch 5.5 server joins an existing Exch 5.5 site what gets replicated? I am aware of the Directory.

How long will it take to replicate the Directory?

Do I need to plan any downtime to do this?

No downtime. However, the duration of the replication depends on the quality of the link between the 2 servers and the amount of data, so it's hard to nail a number on it.

Look like the only way is to try and find out what the traffic will be like.

Process took 8 minutes across a link of 256k to nearest server.

Site has 6 servers located globally. +600 users, Large PF's.

#NB make sure you have the correct permissions throughout the site, else you will have to remove server and start the installation again. Not recommended to use the Exchange Service Account.
