Hi Cognos people.

I have a view that contains all the dates for the past few years and information about each date such as whether it is a Workday, Holiday, or Weekend.

My report is reporting the number of business days between a certain date and today's date. I link to the view with all the dates to exclude Holidays, etc.

The report is displaying the number of business days correctly but the report is very very slow after joining to the dates view.

For each date I check I need to check all the dates between it and today on that view. Is there a certain join method I can use to speed up performance? Need to speed up this report.

Have you tried indexing on the date column in your date table?

let's see part of the SQL. There are usually other ways of doing counts and optimizing joins. My guess is that the date table is joining to another large table?
