I need to find out how to make a back up of an Option 11 on Rls 21 without a PCMCIA slot. Normally I would go into LD 143 and do an XBK, however this is a Rls 21 and LD 143 does not exist. Can you please advise.

LD 143 should still work, it is undocumented for that release

first do LD 43 edd
then try LD 143 xbk

Use LD 43 I think the command is BKO

I believe LD 143 came along with Rls 23. Can you confirm that for me because I am not sure. I tried your suggetion and it did not work. When I type LD 143 I receive OVL014 which means Incorrect Parameters.

Tried xbk and XBK both give me error code EDD010 (invalid command)
Any other ideas? I started in the telecom business when RLS 23 came out so I do not have much experience with RLS 21.

BKO is not an option 11 command its for the bigger switches only

Gibblett,
Thanks for the info, I have not tried that command but I got the following out of a RLS 22 Book and according to it the command should work.

BKO - Is applicable to systems with Hard Disk Storage, including Option 11 and Option 11C..............basic-19"

It does say HARD DISK though so I'm a little confused, oh well.

the post are right, xbk will not work on 11's ld 143 was not in the box on your rls.. the only backup is internal.. i want to say you can put the pcamia in and copy to it from pdt... that's been a while and opt 11's have never been my perfered box.. i installed a lot of them but never maintained any

You can do XBK on rls 21 but it is done in LD 43 instead of LD 143.
Has to be done on TTY 0.

BKO on an Option 11 is to copy the backup to a PCMCIA in slot B:

I no longer have any Rls 21 books but have done XBKs back as early as rls 18

I'm sure it is done in LD 43 for that Rls

See if you can find the Rls 21 books (since you have that rls software) Should be a seperate book - "Customer Configuration Backup and Restore Guide"

I agree with the Giblett, I think it's LD 43 XBK for RLS 21.

he didn't give you a star, so I gave you a stsr on both threads. Some people just take and don't give back or say thank you.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

I am not sure but I think I was on port 1. Thanks for the help. I will let you know.

You must be on PORT 0, just hit ENTER Key and it will tell what port your on.

I do not have access to the system at this time. I will let you know what I find.

Thanks acewarlock, that was kind.
