Job Engine Stopping 1

Hello all,

Recently started a new job where they have tried to implement Arcserve 2000 and it doesn't work. I did a clean reinstall of AE and installed SP3 and SP4 but whenever I schedule a job, instead of starting the job the job engine will stop and just sit there. I restart the job engine and reschedule the job for a few minutes later...same thing. I even tried another uninstall / reinstall. Same thing. Job log just shows Job Engine Stopped.

Hi
Have you licensed it,check event viewer if there license error appear,check also c:\ca_lic\lic98.log.

This problem normally hapen becuase of licensing issues

Hi Mohamdr,

Thanks for the info. I think you're right. It seems that the company I'm working for only licensed it for WE and not AE...which explains why it was working before I did the reinstall.

I am also having the problem but database engin stoppes after backup.
If anyone can answer this.

Only time I had the database engine stopping during a backup was when the database corrupt - I just initialised it and it worked fine since.
