What is the higher level role in you guys opinion a "Sr. telecom analyst" or "Sr. telecom administrator"?
What would you say are some of the diffences in their responsiblities/duties?

IMO, the analyst role is higher paying but requires less broad base telecom knowledge and more specific focus like call center, CTI or IVR.

I have had the following titles
Telecom Engineer
Senior Telecom Engineer
Telecom Manger
Senior Telecom Analyst
Senior Network Analyst
Network Architect

Oddly enough when I had the Telecom Manager title (managed team of 3) was when I made the least

To me, it seams like places I have been call people an analyst instead of an engineer to pay them less. I really don't think most places expect more or less of you for engineer VS analyst it is really the Senior or Manager that decides how much more will be expected.

If you are a member of INAAU they have job descriptions for all kinds of titles along with pay averages.
 
To be honest, a title is nothing. You can be a manager of managing managers, and get paid less than anyone else. What really matters is the pay and benefits matching the work that you do and what you feel you should make.

Never hurts to keep an eye on a job description either.

The money isn't really at question, it's moreso role and responsibility.
If I have an administrator, is promoting him/her to analyst really a higher professional level?
 
My world hierarchy:
Network Administrator
Sr. Network Administrator
Assoc Network Analyst/Engineer = Same
Network Analyst/Engineer = Same
Sr. Network Engineer
Principal Network Engineer
Mgr. Network Engineer
Dir. Data Network
VP Data Center

In my world the answer to your question is YES... Analyst is higher than a Administrator title. But every world is different.... Depends who you work for and the "job bands" that are tagged to your title.

Yes, as the manager, I see it the ssme as you. I look at an administrator= doing what's already laid out for them and not really implementing or making changes on thier own.
An analyst I see working through issues and looking at new and improved procedures/process/equipment or software to serve the company's benefit.
Then I have the engineer designs the infrastructure and ensures the recommended changes will work in the enviroment.
Lastly I have specialist who do one thing like CMS, or call center or CRM/CTI.
