I have a Laserjet 4 Plus with an internal Jetdirect J2552B card. I have upgraded the firmware on the JD card to the latest available (A.08.49) but I am unable to get DHCP working.
If I default the settings by holding down the On Line button when it is powered on the Jetdirect will lease an IP address but only via BOOTP. I have a Windows 2003 Server running DHCP and if I make the particular DHCP scope DHCP only (i.e. BOOTP disabled) the JD card cannot lease an IP address. If I enable both DHCP & BOOTP on the server it works but the lease is listed as BOOTP.
I have telnet'd to the JD card and enabled DHCP (dhcp-config:1) but then it fails to lease an address altogether.
I know the DHCP server works as it is leasing addresses to lots of Windows clients. It looks like the JD card doesn't support DHCP but the option is there in the config?
Any takers?
Andy
