jet file problem when install personal call manager

I tried to install PCM on to 2 pcs windows xp service pack 2.
after installation when the install ask to creat a short cut to the desktop i get a error to say "another application is using the jet file. close the application to continue"
i press yes to continue and it keeps repeating the same message.
if i click no then the install does not complete.

what are the jet files pcm is referring to.
No other application is running and the PC guy doesnt know what they are.

the PCM does not show in programmes under nortel

Bcm50 rel3 fully patched today 13 patches.
cant wait untill tne next SU patch is out because these are doin my head in.

any ideas

does this same machine have an i2050 phone or any other bcm app? i remember having an issue when trying to load PCM on my XP that had the 2050, removed the 2050 and it loaded correctly.
