Dear All,

I was trying an asp application and I got the following error:-

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80004005)
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]General error Unable to open registry key 'Temporary (volatile) Jet DSN for process 0x458 Thread 0x60c DBC 0x145a024 Jet'.

I tried to search the microsoft site but got no reply for my query. Can you please help me out?

Thanks for your help and time

It seems were running into the same issue. I'm still trying to work mine out but I've narrowed it down to a securities issue... make sure users have the appropriate securitys to access the database then try this link to set the proper permissions in your registry:

Keep me posted on your situation!

Hey Wakestrap, with the link u gave me it worked! What I did before was strating the MS-DOS prompt, typing %temp% and pressing enter. Then, I set the permissions of the TEMP folder to Everyone with full Access.

Hope this helps!

I've already set permissions for temp I was just wondering did you have to reboot after changing the Registry securitys in order for it to work? I havent had a chance to reboot my server and wont have a chance until late tonight so I think that once I reboot I should be all set. Cheers,
Wakestrap

Yeah sure, I stopped my local IIS and then restarted it again. I guess that might be the problem
