I have a database that was built and joined to a workgroup then burned to a CD for archiving. Now I can not open the database from the disk because I get and "index" error. I found an old copy of the databse on my server but can't open it because of the "Databases" error mentioned. I can not run any repair either. HELP!

Have you tried copying the CD to your computer, and putting it in the same folder as the original database?

And if you copy the CD to your computer, right click on the file, select Properties, and uncheck the "Read only" box ...as anything copied onto a CD is read only.

The file tell's me access denied when I try to remove the read only. I tried to remove the read only in DOS and got the same "access denied" response. Any ideas?

Sorry. Yes I did copy it over the server and get the 'Database' error.

As I indicated in my original post...and as lespaul has just confirmed...try copying the CD back to your computer and try opening it there.

You can't remove the Read Only designation on the CD itself, only when it's on the hard drive.

Great.....I did remove the read only once the file was on the hard drive. However now I'm getting and error saying "Operation invalid without a current index"...any ideas?

Well I just did but got the following error: Form Name.mdb isn't an index in this table. Thanks for any help....
