jdbc - data source error

i have had great trouble setting up a new datasource. When i do i get a 'jdbc connection verification failed .... blah blah blah

i have looked in the event log and there is this error.... has any one got any ideas

The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( ColdFusion MX ODBC Server ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: ColdFusion MX ODBC Server@LOCALHOST,ErrorCode=3059,ErrorMessage=The specified data source is not defined.,ClientHost=127.0.0.1,Session=1.

i am runinng cfmx svs pac 4

any ideas please help !

If by Service Pack 4, you mean MX 6.1 (Redsky), then I had a problem when I did the upgrade, where it removed the backslashes from my Class Path defined in the Administrator.

Just a thought.

no my error, it was svs pack3 (updater3).

I had this before, i applied svs pack 3 and it worked for a while, but now it is throwing this error again. I could apply the svs pack again but i am really more worried about the deep rooted cause.

any other ideas ???
