I am looking for information about JD edwards and people soft . I know that peoplesoft has bought them out. I am looking for information about their products and the types of companies that they handle.
BTY,, Oracle purchased Peoplesoft some time ago. So all the product line are thru Oracle. You can check their web site. And pull software information. There are 2 versions of JD Edwards. World, which is a machine dependant version of software, it runs only on the IBM Iseries, AKA AS400. Then there is the Enterprise One, formerly know as OneWorld, it is not a machine dependant software. Using Oracle SQL, and running on set of servers
I would just like to expand upon what jmd0252 said. Even though Oracle now owns jde/peoplesoft, you are not bound to use the Oracle DB. JDE is machine and platform independant for the most part. You can run it on Oracle, MSSQL, DB2 or AS400. Your enterprise servers can be Win2k, Unix, Solaris, or AS400. The only server that you are bound to one operating system is your deployment server, which must be Win2k.
