Java version on 4.3.3 1

I would love to have a newer version of java than

Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.1)
Classic VM (build 1.3.1, J2RE 1.3.1 IBM AIX build ca1311-20011123a (JIT enabled: jitc))

The normal channels (IBM support site) suggests it is not possible and I would have to upgrade to 5. Does anyone know differently, please ?

I believe 1.4.2 is the latest version for 4.3.3.

Because the IBM site and another thread claim that 1.4 will not work on 4.3.3

Khz, thanks, but that is the site claiming you need AIX 5, not AIX 4.3.3 which was the subject of my question.
