Hi Team,

I have been having the above issue .I have created the 46xxspecial.txt file, I have also made sure Avaya Environment is off and put The Reg Policy to Alternate but I can still get the phones to register.

The SIP proxy list is not a full circle, what could I have missed? Attached is the sys mon traces

Kind Regards

run the monitor trace with the SIP traces enabled also you have no info on what IP address the phone is or the extension number you are trying to register, what release the system is or what kind hosted or IP500V2?
as much info as you send helps a lot.

The SIP proxy list is not a full circle
Not sure what you mean here.

You honestly shouldn't need a 46xxspecial.txt to get a J139 to register to your system.

There is just to much information missing to help much.
What version are you running on the IP 500 V2?
Was the extension you created a SIP or H323 extension?
Is SIP gatekeeper enabled? (make sure you close the config and re-open it to get a fresh copy of the config)
Have you defaulted the phone and starting from scratch?
Do you have IP endpoint for the phone?

The more information you can provide the more likely to get help. These are just the questions that came to mind off the top of my head.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

Apologies for not sharing all the required information.

Its IP 500 V2 v11.1.0.1.0 gateway hardware appliance.
I tried both SIP and H323 Extensions, SIP Ext: 5010, and H323:5000
H323 gatekeeper is enabled, also H323 gatekeeper remote extension is enabled.
The system has a License for IP endpoints, we am using hardphones J139, the phones are new so we are starting the configs from
scratch.
The Phone IP address from the attached trace is 192.168.73.27.

Any other information that I missed?

FYI - J139 doesn't support H.323 you need to run this as a SIP device. Is the SIP Gatekeeper enabled as per @Critchey's advice?

Thanks, Tim

As said, remove all those things you thought you need to do in the special file. Using a specials file for extra commands is good. But the ones you mentioned are not needed, the IP Office puts the right commands for J139 support into its auto-generated settings file. You're just overriding them.

And yes, SIP only.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

I can only see SIP registrar, and it is enabled on my end. Is this the same as SIP Gatekeeper?

On the SIP proxy list on the phones, the phones are not displaying the full circle also.

I have also delete all the H323 user extensions, only left with SIP ext as advised and confirmed that I can reach port 5060 from the local LAN.

Working OK now after rebooting the gateway.

thanks for the help.
