Has anyone setup a J129 Avaya Sip Phone? I am having issues with registering the phone and I an wondering if it has to do with Licenses. Do I need a 3rd party IP License or should I be OK with an Avaya IP Endpoint License?
You need a Avaya endpoint license AND VCM hardware (e.g. a VCM Card or a Combo Card) fitted in IP Office.
And you need to have the SIP registrar enabled on the LAN which is used for the SIP Phones.
I just set up 45 in one system, seems to be working good. One of the issues the customer has is that the name and ext don't show on the phone only the date and time, you can get the name and ext by pressing the down arrow but after a call it reverts back to date and time. Not what I hoped for but working. It was easy to register and set up though.

From what I read so far the phone asks for a J100Supgrade.txt that will be delivered with R10 SP3 the first time. The upgrade files links to a J100settings.txt or 46xxsettings.txt. Not sure if the file names are correct. Check with SysMon what files the phone asks for and upload them from the manager directory.
