Hi All,
Are J179 SIP handsets supported on Rls 10.1.8
and if so, how did you get them to register?
Please not that this is not for a Server Edition
Using IP 500v2 control unit and POE switch.
According to Avaya Support Site Tech Bulletin 225 J129 J169 and J179 are support on Rls 10.1.8

For releases below 11 you will need to use the H323 firmware and they are recognised as a 9611G (and the interface is the same as a 9611G).

I have 5x J179s and 2x J169s on my 9.1 IP Office at home running in H323 mode and they run fine with only two bugs I've found so far: If you are using J100 expansion modules only the first page will display button labels, and the expansion button status lights are switched around (eg: for a User/DSS key on the handset itself it will show red if in use, on the J100 it will be green).
