Prior to 11.1.2.4 I was adding the 46xxspecials file to the file manager in Server or IP500v2 systems when using J Series phones.
This would direct the phone settings and set the IP Office mode, TCP etc....
When registering IX Workplace clients, the clients will not load the 46xxsettings.txt with the 46xxspecials file in place.
This will give you the error "no telephony features available and your presence and contacts will not work.
Removing the 46xxspecials.txt file from the file manager resolves this issue.
I also tested the phone registration on the J179 from default and it loaded fine without the 46speccials file.
One less step in 11.1.2.4 I guess.

Same file I always use. The IX Workplace will register using the web address.
Enter the extension number and password. IX logs in fine.
Problem is it reads the 46xxspecials but never reads the 46xxsettings.txt.
So it doesn't grab the PPM options.

Once I delete the 46xxspecials file it pulls the options and works fine. Contacts and presence works again.

Workplace is one of the latest version?
Before 3.25 the 46xxspecials.txt was ignored by Workplace.

Also, why do you need the Specials to get J100 to work with IPO?

I used the specials file to set the IP Office mode and force it to use TCP. Earlier versions required it. But it's not needed anymore.
Like adding commands in the nouser source numbers. Basically special instructions.

?? The early versions never required that except if you were also using a manual 46xxsettings.txt file.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

I had some issues with the J series phones where it wouldn't boot without a proxy manually configured.
So I added a specials file and it corrected the issue.
