It's used when you have multiple currencies, not sure of what the data is but I'm guessing something relating to the indices between two currencies.
When checking the data dictionary It is referenced in two database tables msf052 (storing date and value of currency conversion) and in msf225 (price adjustments) - also say used in msf221 (purchase order items) and msf210 (stock codes/suppliers/price codes).

This code is used to describe the index type per currency used for price adjustment calculations.

Y indicates that the particular code is Active.
N or Space indicates Inactive. If the code is inactive, the rates stored against the index type will not be used.
Also:
MSO011 /Table Type XX Table Code IX shows that this table
is NOT maintained by MSO010, so there must be a dedicated screen to maintain it . The program to miantain is MSO052
