IWR Service timing out 1

Hi,

I have just installed Cognos IWR and Enterprise Server. Although Upfront and PowerPlay Web function properly, when I try and start the IWR Service Manager service from the services window in Win2K, I am getting the error message, The service did not start in a timely fashion. I have checked on Cognos Support Website and tried all of their suggestions but with no luck.

Any Ideas?

Today I was facing the same issue untill I found out the native locale was not supported by my windows install.

Open the configuration manager and change the locale encoding (in the shared folder) from windows-1252 to us-ascii.

In my case evething started up fine after this.

It's not the godd way in V7

You have to open Configuration Manager and changer in IWR Server the TimeOut Value.
