Ok 2 questions, keep in mind im not too familiar w/ the system, being the IT guy (funny how that encompasses phones too)...anyway
1) a certain extention can not get incoming calls either from within the organization or from the outside. It rings busy on the outside and on the inside I dial the extension (1532) and get a restrict msg. Any ideas on where to look. I used matworks to compare it to another extention and in Station manager it looked to be identical (Except of course for the LEN and the extention)

2) is there a realitivly easy way to block 411 calls (IE: 9,411)

Thanks
M

1) check Do Not Disturb (DND). Pick up the handset and press #8 . you should hear some beeping tones. Try to call the phone.

look at command 8a4005. post back with the data for 4 or 41 or 411

Gary

Hi gary,
Is there any way to check the DND remotely, as it is a private phone (It's a patient phone, and I don't want o disturb them unless absolutly necessesary) Also looking at Station manager the station doesn't seem provisioned for that feature (under the feature code for DND it says "Not Provided"

2)
4 Assigned Already
41 Assigned Already
411 0002

Thanks again for your help everyone
Matt

ok I think i figured out #1....I checked call forwarding on that line , and when the line was busy, it was set to forward to "2". Dialing just 2 im assuming is restircted. In any case I cleared the forwarding and now I get a busy tone. Now i HAVE to check the phone to make sure its properly functional

#1 is resolved....he wasn't hanging up the phone....sometimes complex problems have soimple solutions :)

MMMM, hospitals, I worked for one for 10 years. Throw a sick person into the equation and anything is possible. Glad the phone is working.

for yor 411 issue you can go back to command 8a4005 or 8a4007 >411 and clear out the data in cat mode by putting CCC in the data. then NO ONE can call 411.

DND cannot be checked or changed remotely.

Gary

Hi Gary,
Just want to make sure im doing this correctly

Command 8a4005
411:0002

Command 8a4007
411:NONE

So do i only need to clear out 8a4005

Thanks again

Gary,
Thank you for your help. Our vendor wanted to charge us $800 to come in and program each line. I knew there was an easier way :) I always wondered what LCR stood for ;) Im assuming 0002 menas something like "send it over this line" where as 0001 would mean send it over copper lines and if it doesn't know how to route it, then it gets restricted. Funny when youre the only IT guy and because information comes over phones you are responsible for that too ;) Next thing you know I 'll be sorting the snail mail :)

M

The 2000 LCR is an interesting animal. The 0002 is a pattern,

8a4005> 411:0002 0002 is a code for a pattern

8a0002> 1: 002 01 (example) 002=LCR pattern 01 = trunk route

8a5002>000: xx xx=toll restriction pattern in cmd 81

follow through on an area code and you can see how it works........i.e. 1213 (remember not to use the 9 first in the data)

Gary

You can check DND remotely if you have a console. Dont select a loop just dial the extension number and it should show up in the display. it can be set or cancelled this way assuming a 611 or later console and assuming it is the same as here.
