MXe 10.1, NuPoint latest build. Setup 2 lines 6 ports for vm and 2 for MWI. Showed the customer MWI and they didn't want it, before I cleared the MWI I deleted the MWI lines. (DOH!)

Now I can't get rid of the MWI on the set. I've rebooted the NuPoint, re-instated the MWI Lines, rebooted the MXe and the handset, no joy. Locate Feature shows this on the set. I've tried clear features code with no joy...help!

IP Device ID: 21
Circuit Location : 1 3 1 21 1
Extension : 3110
Active Features :
Message Waiting Lamp On
Callback Messages : 1
Phone Lock: UnLocked
MAC Address : 08:00:0F:4B:08:A8

-> Press the Voicemail key
-> You should see READ
-> read the message and delete

Technically this is a Call Back Message, not a voicemail message

To follow Ynot's suggestion you may need to enable Message Waiting Inquire in the COS of the set.

I'm curious, what about MWI did the customer not like?

Also curious, why dedicate ports. The Nupoint suports MiTai message waiting.

Also this COS needs to be enabled to disable the MWI Lamp.

-> Multiline Set Voice Mail Callback Message Erasure Allowed
Select "Yes" to allow erasure of a voice mail callmeback message.

YnotPhone - I tried the VoiceMail key already, it didn't work.

kwbmitel, the customer prefered to be notified via email rather than the flashing lamp. According to the THB, for mitai MWI to work you need a HCI reroute huntgroup and a line group with the HuntGroup members in.

I'll try changing the COS, thanks guys.

I would give the customer the best of both worlds. Use the COS option to turn off the main lamp.

Users that want lamps can have a key assignment

Users that don't no problem.

As for Mitai MWI

For MiTai MWI to work you need a HCI huntgroup - No Problem
You need a Huntgroup with VM Member - Yup Already got that
You need to route HCI group to VM Group - No Problem.
Works 10 times faster than port dialing
Allows all ports on VM to be used for voice calling

Cheers, I don't suppose you know how to do a key assignment to call forward to a NuPoint voicemail mailbox.

I tried a CDE speedcall of 6000P* then the user dials the mailbox number. This would work fine in embedded VM, but the call is committed to NuPoint before the pause and the *, so these items are missed. The caller can still press * to back out of their mailbox and then dial the mailbox they want and hangup. But I want to reduce the number of keys pressed.

There are other methods I would use with a nupoint to route messages to specific mailboxes. I would need to know more about how it might be used before advising you.

Please include whether you have Call Manager available.

It would be used for a basic transfer. For example, Customer A would call the site and User 1 picks up. Customer A asks for User 2, User 1 tries to do an attended transfer but User 2 is unavailable. User 1 goes back to Customer A and asks if they would like to be sent to User 2 voicemail. This is where I need to reduce the key presses. In raw format, I would press the transfer key then dial 6000, press * to come out of User 1's mailbox and then dial User 2's mailbox and then hangup.

Not sure if I'm licensed to use call manager, we have a standard base NP package with 8 ports and IP Integration.

Hi I too have managed to screw up a perfectly working Nu Point, could you please confirm for me in detail how Mitai is setup for NuPoint all the groups appear to be setup but when I press the message waiting button or dial the message ring group I just get ring tone?

Hi sorry I've just thought of some more detail I missed, the message indicator works fine it's just the message collection.

The Mitai integrastion simply removes the necessity of dedicating a mw port all port become message waiting ports I am sure there is a configuration note in the Nupoint help files for the proper setup.

NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED!

Hi thanks for your reply, I assume then that all ports need to be assigned to the MWI Group on the system and that there does not need to be a line group setup on the Nu-Point itself?
