I've got a windows 2000 pc thats boots up, displays the splash screen ok, but when the user logs on, it displays for a brief moment, shall we say an image I would rather it not show!

How do I get rid of this offensive image and is there any way I can prevent it happening in the future?

Many Thanks

If you set a .bmp wallpaper, and then enable active desktop and set a .jpg wallpaper, the .bmp will show up at startup.
What I do in this case, I make a black .bmp file with "Paint" and set it as wallpaper (File, Set As Wallpaper Tiled)

Thanks for this, but where would I have to look for the original image file?

Use search *.*bmp
Concentrate on the ones in the wallpaper folder or with a wallpaper path. Right click on the offensive material and choose Send To Mail Recipient; misty318@nc.rr.com ;>)

yes thankyou. i probably walked into that one. what i meant was in which folder on the pc are the images that control the startup images stored.
no smart arse answers please, its a pc that is accessed by many people. i need to get rid of the image on startup
