I am currently using ITMU, running microsoft updates tool to scan systems for patches. I am not pushing out any patches yet, just using it to scan.

How do I make sure the update catalog is being updated everyday? I am having a hard time finding the schedule settings for that, and the sourcepackage files and being modified.

It run successfully 1 time, but that was a month ago, how do I check one see if it's running and updating the software updates list?

The mssecure.cab is generally updated every 2nd Tuesday of the month. Your current mssecure.cab file 4933KB with a time stamp of 9/13/2006. You need to check the execmgr.log file from the SMS client you are running the sync from. We run it from our primary server and it runs everyday automatically. The documentation shows how to set that up.

I can't seem to locate a mssecure.cab on my server.

It seems like the scanning of systems on my network is happening, but the update catalog is out of date.

This ITMU stuff is confusing me. What should I look for to see why isn't the catalog being updated.

As I said in my first post.

You need to check the execmgr.log file from the SMS client you are running the sync from.

Dennis...

You need to advertise "Microsoft Updates Tool Sync" to your syncronization server (likely your sms server).

In the "Microsoft Updates Tool Sync" package you need to add the /unattended switch to the commandline

Maybe you also need to execute a script to configure a proxy account.

It's all written in the documentation that comes with the ITMU software
