ITG Line 3 and i2050 1

I am running S4 on a meridian option 11. I have an ITG line 3 card fw IPL-3.00.74. When I try to startup an i2050 softphone I get the following error messages.

I have spare IP Phone Licenses. In fact I have deleted a couple of i2004 so I can try out the i2050.

Anybody any pointers.

If you don't have installed i2050 build 346, upgrade your phone. You can find it on

http://www.nortel.com

I have just been informed by our provider that I need to upgrade OTM to version 2.1 or above. Currently on 2.0.

OTM 2.1 is not required to get the IP-phone to register with the ITG Line card if the card already is configured.

If you have succ x21 r3.0, I will advise you to upgrade to ITG 3.10.81 software (This software is free and should be provided from your vendor). If you upgrade ITG-Line you need OTM 2.1 or later to work, but if you upgrade the OTM upgrade to 2.2

Thanks I2007. I have just upgraded from 25.15. Is there any way of configuring the ITG card to accept the i2050 without having to use OTM 2.1 or above.

I am awaiting the upgrade of OTM and I beleive the ITG software upgrade. WOuld just like to play with a softphone while I am waiting.

I don't know if 3.00.74 supports i2050 but I think it should. Have you defined the phone as i2050 under type in LD11?

I've created the phone ok in ld 11(20). Its just when it tries to register with the ITG that you get the message.

I have a copy of what I beleive is 3.01.22 on disk, has 2 files, IPT30122.ps and IPT30122.sa Would thsi be the card formware ? If so how would I load it onto the card.

Yes but this is an earlier release befoure 3.10.81.
IPT30122.ps is for pentium cards (2 slots)
IPT30122.sa is for strong arm cards VGMC (1 slot)

What I do is to rename the file "IPT30122.xx" to "exec" and ftp the file to the root of the pentium card overwriting the existing "exec" file on the card. Reboot and everything should be OK. However, as everything else this is hopefully the only thing you need to do. I also sometimes had to reconfigure the ITG card after doing this. It's a risk to take, but if you are willing to take it it's no problem for me. If someone else can verify that you can reconfigure 3.01.22 software with OTM 2.0 it's no problem. You can also do this by transmitting software via OTM, but I never do that really because of experienced problems...
