I have 3 sites, for simplicity sakes, i'll call them A,B, and C. Site A and Site B has an M1 11c with release 25.40. Site C will not have a switch. Site A (IPT 3.01)to Site B (ITG 2.0) has an exisiting ITG trunk connection. Site C will be a new site and will have an IP backbone to Site B. The proposed plan is to install IP line cards (NTV001BA) and Wireless IP cards (NTEZ04AA)at Site B. Since the ITG trunk card at Site B is already a Leader card, do I set up the IP line cards and wireless IP line cards as a backup and follower cards or do each the of the IP line card and Wireless line card both become a Leader card. Do they also need to be attached to the DCHIP card as well?

Thanks in advance.

I think, if I remember correctly, your IP line card will also be defined as a leader. The Leader, Backup function is for cards that share/support the same services. Since the IP Tunk and the IP Line are different, they each will have a leader in the group.

On the DCHIP question, that is not required on the IP line card. I have not installed one of those in about 5 years, but I do remember the Trunk side ITG was the one that needed the D-Channel.

Hope this helps,

Scott M.

Thanks Scott!! Do you know if the Wireless IP line card and the IP line card (for desktop phones) will require it's only leader card? Or do they share the same leader card?

That I am not sure of. It is possible they only require one leader, but I would not swear to that.

Good luck!!

Ok.. I've got the ITG line 3.0 card installed. The OTM server is able to ping successfully to this card. I then created a zone 0 (no zone existed) in load 117. I then created a virtual loop 100 in ld 97. I then went to ld 11 to add a I2002 set. I entered TN 65 0 0 1 and once I reached the prompt for zone, I entered 0 and when I hit enter I receieved the message "BERR705 EXC 0: Bus Error in Task "tSL1" (0x203e89f0)SR=0x3014, PC=0x1016620a, Addr=0x4, SSW=0x525" Anyone knows what this message means? Did I do something wrong or am I missing something? I also noticed I could not dial out during this time (no PRI card on this switch - ITG trunking is in place) and my Rlogin session from the OTM server got disconnected). However, I was able to make a call to another extension across the ITG trunk. Please help!!

After the zone creation did you do a "update dbs" in ld117...???

i2007

I thought update dbs is required if the ELINK IP address of the M1 was changed. The IP address wasn't changed. Regardless, I did an update dbs anyways and I'm still experiencing the same issue.

Have you programmed the TN's on the MC32 card???

i2007

Hello I207,

If this is done on ld 14 by the following, then I believe I've done it.

REQ: NEW 32
TYPE: TIE
TN: 4 0 0 0
DES: VOIP
XTRK: ITG1
MAXU: 8 (APPARENTLY THIS CARD SUPPORTS ONLY 8 TNs, IT WILL TAKE NEITHER 24 NOR 32 FOR INPUT)
IPTN: YES
ZONE: 0
CUST: 0

Have you looked to see how many IP Trunk licenses you have? (LD 22, SLT) That could be a stopping point, if you only have 8 licenses. I cannot see any other reason the system would not allow you to build more than 8 trunks.

Hope this helps,

Scott M.

First of all, we need to know what software you have on ITG cards and on the system.

Hello I2007,
Is this what you are referring to?

Installed Image: IPL IPL-3.00.74 (ITG SA) - Wednesday October 16 20:07:40 EDT 2002
value = 0 = 0x0

Question: What are you trying to do?

The reason I asked is that I went back to your original post, and the question was about adding IP Line ports for IP Phones at Site C. Is that still what you are trying to do? I also ask this because, correct me here I2007 if I am off, but IPL IPL-3.00.74 is for IP lines side (phones), not trunk, software. In your post above, you are attempting to build IP Trunks on the card in slot 4.

Can you help and get us back on task as to what you are needing to do? I fear we have been going in circles with your posts recently, sorry for the confusion.

Scott M.

Sorry all,

The post was never about adding IP trunks.I was trying to add IP Line cards to a switch that already has IP trunk cards (Site B). Site C will not have a PBX. Site C will have a bridge to site B. I apologize again for the confusion.

That being said, the TN's you were adding in the post above are NOT for IP Phones.

This is for trunks. New phones would be built in LD 11, I believe. Do you have any existing IP phones you can copy from?

Scott M.

Hello srmega41,

Sorry, i'm new to this. We currently do not have any IP phones to copy from. This is the first time we will be using IP phones and IP line cards. In addition, the ld 14 procedure was in the IP line 3.01 documentation. Once that was done, as per the documentation, I was suppose to add the IP phones in ld 11. In ld 11, it bombs right after I enter zone 0.

What rls do you have on the system... What IP-Line card do you have? I suppose since it's new that you have a MC32 card. If so and you have rls 3.0 on the Meridian system I think you should use whats beneath.

Try this out first...

Hello i2007,

I'm at release 25.40 using a single slot IP line card. When I log into the ITG card (itgadmin) and look at the channel states, I only see 8 channels/TNs.

This is the software version I have.

Installed Image: IPL IPL-3.00.74 (ITG SA) - Wednesday October 16 20:07:40 EDT 2002
value = 0 = 0x0

This card came for free with our system roughly 3 years ago.
