Hi Guys,
I have an issue with some items showing different quantities in location details, inventory movement and item valuation reports on sage 300 version 6.3.
as it stands the location details has higher quantities in store than in the inventory movement report.
what could be the issue?

Kindly help.

The inventory movement report is the issue - the location details is correct.

FWIW this is an old horse that has been flogged to death many times. The movement report is basically worthless and should not be taken as correct.

Thanks Ettienne,
what about the valuation report quantities?

so I should edit the movement report to pick quantities from location right?

Run the item valuation report by location details (not transaction details) and you will get the correct quantities.

The issue with the report is that the transactions could be out of order so a shipment looks like it was made before a recpt. We have seen this report show negative inventory on sites where this is not enabled. We did write our own report for a client but it took a lot of work to get it as best it could be given the limitations of the data. Our report is much better but it still sufferes from the odd issue.
