Item Description Source for Order Entry Details 1

Hi. We are running 5.3 on DB2.

We had made some description changes in the item master and realized that they weren't being recognized in new Orders. It appears that the description is coming from the Price List instead. First, I want to confirm that. Second, can the description be changed to come from the Item Master? We use many pricelists and it is more efficient to have one source. Or is there anyway to generate the Pricelist descrption to match the item master?

Yes, you are right. You can change it with a simple update query.

We wrote a macro that allows you to change the item description in all locations at once (Master and price lists).

It's an easy macro to write.
Just record a macro while you change an item description in a price list, then expand on that.
