Was wondering what the going asset management standard is when an active configuration item (Avaya G450), is physically removed from one site, and added to another site. Should that configuration item be deactivated in the cmdb, and subsequently be added as a new configuration item once re-installed at another site; or, should that configuration item have its name updated (to support naming convention), IP and associated relationship(s) also updated in the cmdb once relocated? Is there an ISO or some other standard that speaks to such? Thanks in advance.
