I had this website running yesterday and for many days before on the laptop I'm using to write this message. Yesterday I was using the setting to try and figure out the problems on a desktop machine and in the process screwed up the laptop. The laptop is running Win2000 IIS 5.0 It's an ADO ODBC problem. I know that much.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

What type of info. It's just plain vanilla Javascript ASP trying to use ADO to access a database.

What is the error message?

Since MSAccess is a file based database and, if I understood the first post, you were experimenting with the settings... I might guess that the ASP is now running under a security profile that does not have sufficient permissions on both the .MDB file and the folder containing the file.

It says on the .html page that calles the .asp page HTTP 500 Internal Server error.

Perhaps the browser and/or IIS is displaying "friendly" error messages.

To turn it off in Internet Explorer:
Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced tab -> Remove check from friendly errors.

To turn it off in IIS Manager:
Web Sites -> Right click on your web site -> Properties -> Home Directory tab -> Configuration button -> Debugging tab -> Send detailed messages

I'll give that a shot. It's becoming not that important to sweat over.

I used to me a Software person. Lost my last job in 2002. During the last 7 years of my carrier I had and easy comute and did not keep up my schooling in regards to the internet so I became unemployable.

I still like to toy around with it. It just bugs me that I had it working, changed something and it stopped.

Take care and thanks for all your suggestions.
