I use this service to send emails via Exchange. It has been completely unreliable and the service crashes all the time. I am running all the latest updates and it has always done this on this server. Has anyone seen issues with this ancient service?

ArcServe 2000 w/SP3 and updates.

I use the Cheyenne Alert service to send backup info to my pager. I have AS 7.0 for Netware (NW 5.1 SP4). Alerts are set to send to my Win2000 workstation & dialout to my pager from there. The Alerts fail for me intermittantly. When my pager gets no message, I never know whether it's because the backup failed or because the Alert Service has failed.

Sometimes I can "goose" it with Astop & Astart on the server.
Sometimes stopping & restarting the Alert Services on the workstation gets it going again.
Sometimes neither one of those two things will do the trick.
Sometimes it starts working again with no tweaking at all from me.

I would have to say it's bad on any OS and with any version of ArcServe.

Sorry, I couldn't help except to make you feel less lonely with your problem.

Can anyone please tell me how to get into ArcServe 7 and configure or disable the alert? The help files only tell how to do it, but not where to find it.
Thanks,
