Yesterday I posted regarding random issues with my Nortel Meridian switch option 81 having challenges. When users call or receive calls they cannot be heard or vice versa the caller is not heard, it happens sporadically not all the time and from a lot of phones located on different cards and Network groups for either digital and analog lines which is very diffcult to troubleshoot. Dial tone does not seem to be a problem today so at least that seems to be working. It's like chasing a ghost. Any one out there have any idea what the problem could be?

Can you tie this down to internal or external calls, or both? Just a shot here, but if its external, can you tie it to one circuit (T-1/PRI) or one group of T-1/PRI's? THis could be an issue with the telco, it is possible you are fighting more than one issue, a dial tone issue internally and a telco issue externally ..... Just food for thought.

Well there has been maybe one instance when a user called externally and the receiving party could not hear. It appears to mostly be happening when calling within the property to local extensions. One example is: extension 8318 received a call but could not hear the caller but then user at 8318 returns the call and then it works. Very strange situation going on. I hope it makes sense...
