Hi everyone..
I have an issue with phones connected to a IP400 DIG DCPx30..current setup up is as follows

DevNo DevType Version
1 - IP 406 DS - 5.0(8)
2 - Analogue POTS2 - 5.0(8)
3 - Digital DCP 8 - 5.0(8)
4 - DIG DCPx16 V2 - 7.0(8)
5 - Analog POTS16+ - 7.0(8)
6 - DIG DCPx16 V2 - 7.0(8)
7 - DIG DCPx30 V2 - 9.1(-2146697003)

Device4 (DIG DCPx16) failed on us...looks like some sort of boot loop...green led followed by red and so on..purchased Device7 (DIG DCPx30) to replace the failed unit..the new device gets detected by the controller and port indicators light green when phones connect (we use a combination of 5402 and 5410)....however we are experiencing the following issues with phone connected to DCPx30:

on 5402: the date/time gets displayed for a couple seconds and then the top row gets filled with squares (see attachment)..the phone gets detected properly however when viewing the port details in "System Status" and I can make and receive call (albeit with no visual indicators, except the call timer on top right corner)

on 5410: the phone display on the top line shows: 5410D REL:5.00 and the date but the bottom row shows "Please Wait..." ..(see attachment)...when viewing the port in "System Status" it doesn't detect the phone even though the green led indicator is lit up..

thanks
PL

just an update that if I plug the same phone into the other (working) DCPx16 ..the same phones come up properly without any issues.. could the issue be with version display on the DCPx30..it seems the replacement unit came from being connected to an upgraded (version) unit.. is there a way to downgrade the version on DIG DCPx30?

DCP30 in port 7 has the wrong firmware
it needs down grading to match the system

from manager go File Advanced upgrade.

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

Same procedure as upgrade. Just make sure that you are using the same version of Manager that you want the device to be, and only select the units that you want to upgrade (downgrade).

Please remember... If it's not the way that YOU would do it, that does not necessarily mean it's wrong. EVERYONE knows SOMETHING that you do not.

Thanks IPGuru and RocketJTech...

it worked...my procedure for those in similar situation:

1. Open Avaya Manager (with same version number)
2. File -> Advanced -> Upgrade
3. Upgrade Wizard will detect all your control unit devices
4. Select (check box) the device you want to upgrade (or downgrade in my instance) and click on "Upgrade"
5. You'll get prompted for System Password. Thinking this is the same as the control unit Administrator password, it didn't accept it. So I just tried the default: "password", pressed OK, and it proceeded to push the firmware.
6. after the update pushed, I initiated a reboot of the control unit and all the phones (5402 and 5410) now work as expected.

Thanks once again to those that responded. Appreciate this forum and your participation in it.

Regards
PL
