Oh, and rebooted system last night, waiting for feedback on that from customer.

is the EDHU number a DDI number that is allowed to dial out over SIP?
Some SIP providers require that the calling number is part of the DDI range so using CPN substitution will need to be enabled.
When it is not a 'verified' number the SIP provider gets anonymous@anonymous.invalid in the SIP trace and drops the call.

I'm relatively new to sip. That would not have occured to me.

Do you happen to know what caller ID would apply when the PRG is called?

Is there a trace that can verify the signalling sent to the provider?

ccs trace should still show the signalling and the number
The PRG number should be the number that is calling

The command SIP ALL TRACE ON
This will create a rtf file SIPtrace in the /db folder which you will need to FTP off (/db/SipTrace.rtf)

Don't forget when you have finished to turn the trace off.

I normally Filezilla to the existing RTF file first and delete it before turning the trace on so that it only contains the test data.

Does SIP ALL SET STORAGE C output to terminal rather than file?

Never tried that command
I thought SIP SET was for trace level 1 to 3 (3 is default with the most info)
There is also a SIP TCPDUMP which will create a wireshark pcap file saved in the /vmail directory (e.g. WSxxxxxxx.pcap)
SIP ALL TAIL ON is for outputting to console

Correct but I thought
SIP ALL TAIL ON
didn't exist in MCD4.2 so it may not work for kwbMitel
maybe kwb could try
SIP ALL SET STORAGE C
to confirm whether or not it works as I don't have a 4.2 system handy.

You are correct I think it is a Rel 6.0 command so hence did not suggest using it.

KWB
I think we will also need the SIPTrace.rtf as well
Can you also post your SIP Peer profile as well

kwbmitel, There is one option in the sip peer called "Force sending SDP in initial invite early answer".

Can you set that to NO and try.

The same thing hapened to me this morning with some SIP trunks from a provider in Spain.

Let us know the results, cheers,

Daniel

Dan is the Man!

Changing Force Sending SDP initial invite – Early Answer (From Yes to No) did the trick.

I have the customer watching for possible issues being introduced by this change but early indications are all good.

Thank-you danramirez

Kwb, in addition to your comment you are relatively new to SIP, I am not that new but for sure I don't know much.

I bring all this because I'd like to ask the SIP experts wahy is a good way to leard about sip. Any book you can suggest? Any course? Not online please.

I have taken twice that course from the SiP school but never had finished as I have found it very lenghthy and extremely tedious, boring.

Any recomendations?

All I know from sip is from google and trial and error. If the sip provider is not listed in CoE you are on your own as Mitel don't provide support.

Any suggestions? Any book? Any course?

Not from me, I'm a learn as you go, seat of my pants kinda guy
