Hi,
We are having issues receiving internal and external calls on a user logged into a communicator softphone, the call goes straight to voicemail or if voicemail is not configured just times out.

Outgoing calls from the communicator work just fine.

When looking at the system status the user name that is registered states "user 1 - Simultaneous". Does anyone know what the simultaneous part means?

We are using IPO release 9.1 and the latest communicator build.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

simultaneous

adjective
[ol 1]
[li]occurring, existing, or operating at the same time; concurrent noun[/li]
[li](chess) a display in which one player plays a number of opponents at once, walking from board to board Sometimes shortened to simul[/li]
[/ol]

Thanks for that, Just the answer I was looking for....

Sundaymornig, what did you expect?
It is mandatory to know how you use the communicator, as a SIP softphone only or does the user has a deskphone as well.
Have you a One-X portal or not?
Can you make a trace with monitor making and receiving a call to the user using Communicator?

In all honesty I was expecting a response on Monday morning which is prob why the response threw me...

The communicator is being used as a sip softphone alone with no deskphone.

When we log in with one-x portal as well as the communicator the one-x portal rings but the communicator does not hence we cannot answer the call still.

Thanks

Simultaneous means that your SIP phone (communicator) can be logged in the same time with your deskphone (multi-homing).

Do you have a monitor trace of an incoming call ?

So how can I set the communicator to just be a standalone SIP softphone to make and receive calls?
I can't see any option for this in the settings of the communicator..

Thanks

By not having that user logged in on any other devices it will be a standalone SIP softphone. It will still show in SSA as Simultaneous as it will still allow that same user to login to one-x mobile and a deskphone if they want.
