Hi,
What would cause my epson printer to hesitate for the first 2 inches and not print the reciept, just the name twice and the UPC? A forms issue? Also my cash drawer will not pop anymore.

Pc Charge gives me an invalid merchant accound number, but it matches the 1st POS and server. Yes I have a second licence.

I found this site off google and I am hoping the community can help. I have had nothing but headaches with this system.

First off what POS you are using??
I am guessing the PC Charge error is on the same terminal as the printer problem?
The interface to PC Charge is typically linked to the program files\active charge directory. If this is true on your system all terminals place the charge request files in the same place. That would show the problem to be on the specific terminals configuration either locally or in it's configuration in the software. Again, this is all determinate by what POS this is...

The POS was assembled by SBI nursery (
The hardware is as follows:
Dell Optiplex GX520
P4 2.8, 2gigs ram, Mirrored 80gig SATA drives, Gigabit net.

POS1 (Came with)
Via 533 thin client, Epson TM88IIIP, Symbol LS2208, IdTech CC scanner, Logic Control PD3200, cash drawer.

POS2 (I built)
HP 800mhz thin client, Epson TM88IIIP, Symbol LS2208, ID tech CC scanner, Logic COntrol PD3000, cash drawer and correct cable for epson printer.

The terminals are running of RDC's to the server and their appropriate user account. The printers red error light flashes when this happens with the printer. Also when I try to pop the cash draw the printer spits out 1/4 inch of paper and error light flashes, but the drawer dosent open.

This sounds like a setup issue with PcCharge. If you set pos2 up the same as pos1 then that may be a problem. Somewhere in your software there should be a place that you setup and map pccharge as either user1 or user2. They both can't be user1. The printer pausing may have to do with pcCharge trying to run incorrectly. Make sure user1 and user2 are setup in Pccharge also.

Well,
I just emailed veriphone. I should be getting a responce soon. I also got the company that supports this system on the horn and after some careful wording, they should be down here.

I dont see an option in pccharge for mapping?

It might not be PC Charge, it might be that you have to set the User in second terminal in the second terminal's POS Software.

Another possible cause:

The POS software will either use PC Charge to print the receipt, or will print it's receipt itself. If you set up PC Charge, then you will know which one is the case.

You can check PC Charge by going to the priter options, there is a check box to not print the receipt.

If the POS software is set to print the receipt, then it's the POS Software's issue.

We've embeded PC Charge in our application, and it works fine. Sometimes we get duplicate transactions, and I've known other POS applications that do the same, but it's a common requirement of managers to check the credit report to ensure there are no duplicate transactions before doing a batch.

Hope this helps.
